About Amici International School
About Amici
A child who can enjoy the outdoors, a child who can enjoy themselves without toys, a child who has the heart to help someone in need, a child who is able to think and act on their own persistently, a child with curiosity, a child who is courteous, and has manners is the bases of the establishment of Amici.
There is a Japanese proverb, “Send your dear child traveling.” Buying children lots of toys or helping children with everything they do is not the right answer. Our desire is to nurture the children to their fullest potential.

Small Class Size
Small Class Size is valued at Amici to
Act as a second home for the children
To provide individual attention to each child
To allow the children to learn and grow at their own pace
To provide the children with experiences that can only be done in small classes
Allow teachers, children, and parents to understand and get to know each other better
Multi-Age Classes
Starting in 2006 Amici has begun multi-aged classes. With the decline in birthrate and more single child families, we feel it is important in the developmental stages for children to be able to interact with, take care of, teach, learn, and understand the feelings of those younger, older, weaker, and different from themselves.

Amici is an Italian word that means “friends.” It suggests congenial relations among people, and conveys the good feeling of being happy in the company of friendly people.
Amici expresses a desire for peace and cooperation. It is used when persons from different origins meet for the first time and agree to create and maintain peaceful interactions among themselves. It is also used to mean that people do not want to quarrel, and if they do quarrel, they still desire to be friends again.
